"TRIBUTE TO A SOLDIER"
They laid his head to the west;
Folded the flag o're his tomb;
And over him they
Held a twenty-one gun salute.....
For a soldier.....A Soldier.
Friends brought flowers
To make his resting place bright.....
For someone else's soldier boy
He gave his life.....For a soldier;
another soldier.
THERE ARE NO TREASURES; NOT IN SILVER OR GOLD.....TO MATCH THE
DEED
HE DID:  LORD, REST HIS SOUL.
He went back to help a friend;
Didn't thnk about himself.....
That's when he lost his life
Helpin' somebody else.....
A soldier;  A real soldier.
Let this be your consolation
When there is sorrow.....
The Lord knows what's best now
To prepare for tomorrow.....
And he takes special care of soldiers.
THERE ARE NO TREASURES; NOT IN SILVER OR GOLD.....TO MATCH THE DEED HE DID:  LORD, REST HIS SOUL...
GOOD LORD, REST HIS SOUL.
